Police seize 60 kgs of hashish in southern city

ANTALYA - Anatolia News Agency
Police forces confiscated 60 kilograms of hashish in the southern province of Antalya yesterday.

Acting on a tip-off, police stopped two cars in Aksu district of Antalya, and found the hashish stashed in the vehicles.

Five people were detained in the operation.

The operation came one day after security forces seized five tons of hashish in the eastern province of Van.

The drugs seized in Gürpınar district’s Topyıldız village reportedly belonged to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

A comprehensive investigation has been launched into the illicit drugs that were buried in a vacant field near the village.
