Piano Trio Forte to perform Brahms and Shostakovich

Piano Trion Forte formed by pianist Ece Demirci, violinist Sevil Ulucan and cellist Helmut Rocholl will be on the Borusan Music House stage tonight at 8 p.m. The trio will perform Johannes Brahms and Dmitri Shostakovich, who were devotees of J.S. Bach’s music. As much as their contrapuntal writing and rich use of folk tunes seem to make them close, actually their works bear the characteristics of two totally different worlds. The repertoire includes two works, one dating back to 1854 and the other to 1944, for the audience to witness the difference both over a period of 90 years and in contrasting lifestyles.
