Turkish chef introduces ‘fish döner’ as new specialty
Turkish chef introduces ‘fish döner’ as new specialty
A chef in the Turkish capital Ankara has introduced his new specialty: Döner made of fish. Click through for the story in photos...
Mehmet Gezen, who is originally from the eastern province of Bitlis, said his customers initially raised their eyebrows over the idea but “just loved it” after they tasted the fish döner for the first time.
“Like meat and chicken döner, our fish döner gets cooked as it is sliced and rotated. As I know the fish well, I slice it in a way that no bones will be on the plate,” he added.
Before the fish döner, which has been put on sale in the Ankara restaurant, Gezen invented many other specialties.
His menu includes one-meter-long Adana kebab, anchovy burger, squid döner and mantı (Turkish ravioli) with fish.
