Tourists visiting eastern Turkey has stopped by the famous Lake Çıldır and enjoyed a hot cup of tea in the freezing weather, on the frozen lake.
“I have never experienced anything like this. It is an amazing thing. We want to come in the summer and boat [over the lake]. This is a very special place,” a visitor, coming from the Aegean İzmir province, told state-run Anadolu Agency.
Lake Çıldır, located in eastern Ardahan Province, is the second largest lake in eastern Anatolia.
The lake is famous for Eskimo-style fishing and sleigh rides.
It is located at the elevation of 1,900 meters (6,200 ft) and is surrounded by a mountainous region.
Every winter, Lake Çıldır gets frozen and enchants visitors with shades of white and blue.
It is among the top spots for tourists to visit in the region.
