Demirören News Agency reported Oct. 17 that the training instruction came from Istanbul Security Director Mustafa Çalışkan to increase the capacity of security forces in “emergency interventions.”
The 21-day training with pistols and long-barreled guns included sessions on operational shooting, halting suspicious vehicles, search, close combat, measures against IEDs and securing important faciilities against terror attacks.
“Our main goal is to create the right muscle memory in our security forces,” trainer and police official Ahmet Doğukan Aydın told the agency.
Some 15,419 participants completed the training, including more than 10,000 policemen.
