Local media reported Nov. 21 that the driver, Rıfat Çetin, stopped at a traffic light in Antalya’s 100. Yıl Avenue when he was warned by pedestrians that a strange meow sound was coming from his car.
Çetin stopped the music and confirmed the cat meowed whenever he started his car. He spent several minutes to find the cat to no avail.
The Turkish man then decided to go to a nearby car body shop where mechanics started to dismantle his car carefully to find the cat.
The kitten was finally found after the whole front section of the car was removed. Stuck behind the radiator, it was rescued with meticulous efforts that took almost one hour.
“They opened every part of my car. It was worth it, because it saved a life,” Çetin told reporters.
The driver added that he would give the kitten to one of his co-workers who wanted to adopt a cat.
