Emirati billionaire’s superyacht visits Turkish resort
Emirati billionaire Abdulla al-Futtaim’s superyacht has become the latest luxurious vessel to anchor off Turkey’s southwestern resort town of Bodrum. Click through for the story in photos...
Local media reported Sept. 17 that Futtaim’s superyacht “Radiant,” one of the most expensive of its kind, could not enter the Bodrum port, so it anchored a couple of miles off the renowned resort.
The yacht, registered in the Cayman Islands, has a price tag of $286 million, excluding Futtaim’s helicopter that sits on its deck. Photo: Perry van Munster / Alamy
The yacht, which is 110 meters long and has four stories, has a special security system that keeps other vessels at least 100 meters away.
When other vessels approach Radiant, the superyacht produces strong waves to keep them off.
Other security measures include seats with emergency ejection capability and an escape motorboat that can reach 75 knots. Photo: Perry van Munster / Alamy
It has restaurants, bars, gyms and a Turkish bath inside.
