Ancient city dodges deadly tornado in Turkey’s south

The tornado was formed and travelled in the Olimpos Beydağları National Park for 4 kilometers, dodging Phaselis but knocking down some 1,500 pine trees and cedars.
The tornado had then entered residential areas before drifting a car into a flooding creek.
The car’s driver, Ayla Akkın, was rescued, while her 20-year-old daughter, Kader Buse Acar, remained missing as search efforts continued on Jan. 28.
Two people were killed by other tornadoes in Antalya last week.
Dozens of people were injured by the tornadoes in Antalya as 100 million Turkish Liras of property were damaged.
