One killed in crash on highway to Istanbul

One killed in crash on highway to Istanbul

One person was killed and four others were injured on April 20 in a multi-car collision on the main highway to Istanbul.

The driver of a car heading towards Ankara lost control and crossed into the other lane. The car fell over after crashing into a light commercial vehicle. Four were wounded in the collision.

Meanwhile, the driver of a coal-laden truck which fell over in an attempt to avoid the crash and later caught fire died at the scene. 

The TEM highway en route to Istanbul was closed due to the collision.

An investigation into the incident was ongoing at the scene.
