One ISIL member seized in southeast Turkey

A 24 year-old member of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) was caught in Turkey’s southeastern province of the Hassa district of Hatay on March 2, Doğan News Agency has reported.

Citizens of the Hassa district filed a notice to the gendarmerie about the 24-year-old man, identified only by his initials A.D., who had passed to Turkey from the border with Syria at around noon March 2.

While the nationality of the suspect has not been announced, a Kalashnikov, ammunition and a large amount of money were seized during the suspect’s body search.

The agency reported that the interrogation of A.D. was being continued by the gendarmerie.
