Official complaint to the Office of the Chief Prosecutor of Istanbul

Official complaint to the Office of the Chief Prosecutor of Istanbul

To Istanbul’s Chief Prosecutor,

1- In his speech at an opening ceremony in Istanbul’s Sultangazi district, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan broke the news of the sentencing of Mohamed Morsi to death in Egypt as such: “They have unfortunately sentenced Morsi, who had been elected by 52 percent of the vote of people in Egypt, to death.”

2- Prime Minister Professor Ahmet Davutoğlu has found a correlation between the announcing of Morsi’s death sentence together with his being elected with 52 percent of the votes and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan having been elected by gaining 52 percent of the votes.

3- A lawyer from the Istanbul Bar Association, Rahmi Kurt, also interpreted it the same way as Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu when these two pieces of information are given together.

As you know, the president is not liable and he can pass on any news the way he chooses to.

Professor Ahmet Davutoğlu and Lawyer Rahmi Kurt have claimed that the president, by sharing the news of Morsi’s death sentence together with his having gained 52 percent of the votes, has committed crimes such as “a call to a military coup, the threat of a military coup and intimidating by implying something.”

Thus, by attributing a situation that the president did not want to imply to his spoken words, they are aiming to shake the reputation of the president in society.

They are telling the president, “Beware, you also received 52 percent of the votes. Do not count on the votes you received, take care.”

It is obvious that Professor Ahmet Davutoğlu and Lawyer Rahmi Kurt have insulted the elected president who represents the state, the nation and their integrity by implying he is a coup plotter.

Kindly submitted for your information,

If the HDP does not cross the threshold

Only 15 days are left until the general elections and the most critical issue of these elections is whether or not the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) will cross the election threshold. From the words of the government and Justice and Development Party (AKP) spokespersons, “it would be super” if the HDP does not cross the threshold.

From their point of view, they are correct in wishing for the HDP to not cross the threshold because whichever way you slice it, if the HDP is out of parliament, the AKP will own nearly 50 “freebee” seats. They will seize the votes of the people which were not meant for them and obtain a majority in parliament.
They frequently refer to the will of the nation but they see no harm is stealing the vote of the nation.

It is because they all know that if the HDP crossed the threshold, the dream of the person who lives at Beştepe and his daydreams about presidential powers will turn into a nightmare. For this reason, they are trying to scare people. They say if the HDP crosses the threshold, then “the peace process ends.”

Their concern now is not the peace process actually.

They only have one issue and that is to obtain the necessary number of deputies to fulfill Erdoğan’s presidential dreams.

All the surveys show that this is only possible if the HDP stays under the threshold. If the HDP crosses the threshold, they will never be able to do it.

This is the reason their only target is the HDP now.
