ODTÜ tops the list of innovative universities The Ankara-based Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) topped the list of the most entrepreneurial and innovative universities, as was also the case last year.

An index of the most innovative and entrepreneurial universities of Turkey was published by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). Science, Industry and Technology Minister Fikri Işık announced the results of the index on July 4 and said ODTÜ was at the head of the list with 83.09, while Sabancı University ranked second with a slight difference rated with 81.44 points.

On last year’s index by TÜBİTAK, ODTÜ was on top and followed by Sabancı University. The name on the third rank, however, changed this year.

While it was Bilkent University of Ankara that appeared third on the 2013 index, which ranks the top fifty universities, this year, it was replaced by Boğaziçi University of Istanbul.

Bilkent University replaced Boğaziçi University on the fourth rank. Koç University of Istanbul has, meanwhile, become the fifth on the list.
