With nearly 4 million viewers, ‘CM101MMXI Fundamentals’ ranked top on the list of the 10 most-watched films in Turkey in the first seven months.

A total of 349 films were released in the first seven months of the year in Turkey, while the number of viewers is on the rise, according to data provided by Box Office Turkey.

In 2005, during which 355 films were released, 27,801,064 tickets were sold. The number of viewers fluctuated until 2009, during which 904,345 tickets were sold and the number of viewers began to increase. Last year, 494 films were shown in movie theaters, and the number of viewers reached its peak level with 44,339,527 tickets sold.

All told, there has been a 59 percent increase on audience numbers over 2005. In the first seven months of 2013, movie theaters screened 349 films and sold 28,900,876 tickets, which is higher than the total number of tickets sold in 2005. With an approximate ticket price of 9.70 Turkish Liras, the total revenue reached 281,140,188 liras in the first seven months of this year. Also, the most popular films were Turkish productions during this period, with “CM101MMXI Fundamentals” drawing 3,839,895 people.

Among the 10 most-watched films, seven were Turkish productions.
