New Turkish judicial board reshuffles 780 judges and prosecutors

New Turkish judicial board reshuffles 780 judges and prosecutors The Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) has reshuffled the districts of 780 judges and prosecutors, as the new board formed after the recent passing of the constitutional amendment in April issued its first enactment.

With the enactment announced by Justice Ministry undersecretary and HSK member Kenan İpek on July 4, 780 judges and prosecutors including directors of public prosecutors and judges of Heavy Criminal Courts were reshuffled, while some public prosecutors were dismissed.

According to the enactment, the directors of public prosecution in 32 different provinces have been shuffled.

“The preparation concerning the summer enactment of the year 2017 has been completed as of July 3, 2017,” the head of the first department of the HSK stated. 

In line with the changes, Istanbul Republican Prosecutor General Önder Yaman became Bolu Chief Prosecutor. Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor Mehmet Yurtseven was brought to the Supreme Court of Appeals public prosecutor’s office.

Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Ismail Uçar, who was in charge of the Terror and Organized Crimes Bureau in the Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office, was brought to the Istanbul Anatolia Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

In addition, nine of the Ankara Deputy Chief Public Prosecutors have been appointed as Supreme Court of Appeals public prosecutors.
