Former Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli, who is currently in opposition to President Mikheil Saakashvili, left Tbilisi for a three-day trip to Moscow, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, or RFE/RL, reported on its Web site.

It is Noghaideli’s fourth trip to the Russian capital since December. His aides said Noghaideli will hold meetings with the Russian leadership to discuss bilateral economic ties and the resumption of regular flights between Tbilisi and Moscow.

Another Georgian opposition leader, former parliament speaker Nino Burjanadze, visited Moscow last week and met with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and the chairman of the State Duma, Boris Gryzlov.

Visits to Moscow by Georgian opposition leaders are sensitive issues in the wake of the military conflict between Russia and Georgia in August 2008.
