-- DISCUSSIONS ON ARMENIAN ISSUE AT PARLIAMENT
Regarding the protocols signed by Turkey and Armenia, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said, "these texts will shape history. There are frozen crises which are ready to explode in the region. We shall change the status quo with peaceful methods so that a new tensions do not appear." Deputy Sukru Elekdag from main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) said, "The protocols include very serious disadvantages in terms of our national interests. Demands of Yerevan for Turkish lands take place in founding documents of Armenia," Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) group deputy chairman Oktay Vural said, "we will insist that borders should not be opened until the occupation ends. We will oppose to the protocols in parliament. We will show that the prime minister and his friends are responsible."

Democratic Society Party (DTP) chairman Ahmet Turk addressed DTP supporters through daily HURRIYET: "if we do not pay attention to the reaction which has appeared in the public, we would block the process. The burden on our shoulders is heavy but we can be successful."

-- SHOCKING NAMES IN TELEPHONE TAPPING
There are recordings of many telephone conversations made between 1999 and 2004 on the CDs seized in Aydinlik Magazine offices in a police raid that was launched upon the directives of the prosecutors carrying out the Ergenekon probe.
It has not become clear yet who has tapped the telephone conversations of people from the prime minister to the TRNC President, as well as those of a U.S. executive to a UN representative.
-- SWINE FLU TO BURST OUT IN JANUARY
Health Ministry Principle Health Services Director Seracettin Com said swine flu cases would hit peak in January and February in Turkey and lessen afterward.
Com said vaccination could start at the end of October and the first group of vaccines sent to Hifzisihha Center in Ankara received approval.

-- TURKISH PILOTS ALSO BOMBED BERLIN
Turkish lieutenants who went to Britain in 1941 to receive training participated in the air strike against Germany.
Tulin Alpkaya, daughter of former Air Forces Commander Emin Alpkaya, discovered amazing stories while examining the diaries of her father.
Her father was one of the 300 lieutenants who were sent to Britain to get flight training in the 1940s. He was also assigned to bomb Germany.
In the diary of Alpkaya it was written, "They told me that I am ready to go to Berlin. I had returned from the bombardment at 6 in the morning. I was tired."
14 Turkish lieutenants who were martyred in Britain were buried in Brookwood Turkish Martyrs’ cemetary.

Elif Uludag, who climbed down the Qandil Mountain where she had gone to see her two sons who are PKK members, said, "I will try to convince them to return home."
Two sons of 51-year-old Uludag, Haki (29) and Dogan (24), were reported to have been in the mountain cadre of the terrorist organization in northern Iraq.
In her interrogation Elif Uludag said she went to Qandil in 2003 as a live shield and joined the organization. "I will try to have my two sons return home," she said.

-- NUMBER OF CASES INCREASING
Istanbul Governor Muammer Guler said, " In Istanbul 16 students were diagnosed with swine flu in 10 schools. However, there is no need to panick. The schools will not be closed." Nevertheless people were concerned over the claims that 50 people were tested swine flu positive at Goztepe Hospital. A high school in Ankara was closed for seven days when four students were diagnosed with swine flu. In the central Anatolian province of Konya, two people were tested positive.
-- 16 PKK MEMBERS COMING FROM EUROPE
Sixteen members of PKK terrorist organization will come from Europe to Istanbul within the scope of the "returning home" law. Democratic Society Party (DTP) took action to welcome the group living in France, Belgium, Germany and Sweden on refugee status. DTP provincial executives said they would try to welcome their friends with a magnificent convoy at the airport."
CUMHURIYET
-- BESIKTAS DRAW 0-0
Turkish soccer team Besiktas, in group B of the Champions League, drew 0-0 with Germany's Wolfsburg, and won its first point. In the other game of the group, Manchester United defeated CSKA Moscow 1-0 in an away match.
-- SWINE FLU EVERYWHERE
Swine flu was detected in ten different schools in Istanbul. 16 students are receiving treatment. Istanbul Governor Muammer Guler said, swine flu was detected both in private schools and public schools, and there was no need to panick. The Health Ministry stated swine flu could not be detected with tests made in private health institutions.
RADIKAL
-- WE WANT ALL OF THEM TO COME
Speaking in the eastern province of Agri, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated his call to those on the mountains to surrender and addressed the Democratic Society Party (DTP).
Erdogan said, "we have started with sincere feelings. We don't want mothers to cry any more. Within the scope of the law, 34 people returned home and were released.
"We want many others to surrender. I expect all of them on the mountains to return, laying down their arms," Erdogan said.
-- TURKEY GIVES NOTE TO BAKU
Ankara gave a note to Baku on grounds that they hauled down the flags at the martyrdom.
President Abdullah Gul called Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev and expressed the sorrow he felt over the incident with the flags.
-- FLU GIVES ALARM
News about swine flu cases come from all over Turkey after the cases in Ankara. Swine flu was detected in 16 students from 10 schools in Istanbul. Istanbul Governor Guler said, Capa Hospital continued testing 40 people. "There is no reason to close the schools," he said.

-- WE GIVE DIPLOMATIC NOTICE TO AZERBAIJAN
The Flag crisis continues. Ankara gave a diplomatic note to Baku, which hauled down Turkish flags. While the protocols, which were signed by Turkey and Armenia, were transferred to Turkish parliament yesterday, Ankara gave a diplomatic note to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry when Turkish flags were removed in Baku.
-- GREAT EULOGY FROM EU TO TURKISH ECONOMY
A report from the European Union, stated Turkey had begun catching the EU with the outstanding growth performance of its economy in the last seven years.
ZAMAN
-- WE WILL NOT BE DECEIVED BY PROVOCATION, WE WILL NOT STEP BACK
Commenting on the surrendering process of the PKK members, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan relayed messages of determination.
Erdogan reacted to the Democratic Society Party (DTP) saying, "They are inciting the atmosphere at [southeastern] Habur [border gate] irresponsibly."
Erdogan made a call to those who are trying to hamper the process with shows and provocation.
"Your efforts are in vain. We will not make concession, we will not step back," he said.
-- CHIEF CONSTABLE OF FRANCE DUE IN TURKEY, AGENDA IS PKK AND CEM UZAN
Turkey is getting ready to host a critical summit, with Chief Constable of France due in attendance next month.
The visit became more important after French police raided the center of a terrorist organization and businessman Cem Uzan took shelter in France.
Turkish chief of police, Oguz Kagan Koksal, will submit a detailed file to his counterpart including activities of the PKK in France, its financial sources and a file regarding the extradition of Cem Uzan, leader of the Young Party.
-- THREE NEW TEST CENTERS TO BE OPENED AGAINST SWINE FLU
Three new laboratories will be opened to analyse swine flu virus. The laboratories in Istanbul, Izmir and Adana will start operating on November 1. 200 separate tests can take place in each center per day.

-- SWINE FLU IN ISTANBUL
Swine flu cases are increasing at schools in Istanbul, after capital Ankara and the southeastern province of Diyarbakir had detected it earlier this week. H1N1 virus was confirmed in 16 students in Istanbul. Governor Muammer Guler said, "the students are under treatment in their homes. There is no need to close the schools."
-- WHERE IS SINCERETY?
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned Democratic Society Party (DTP) which turned the surrender of 34 members of PKK terrorist organization [who were released after their interrogation in Habur] into a show. Erdogan said, "how can the people, who really want peace, do such a show?"
RETURN HOME
Released 89 days after being kidnapped by Somali pirates in the Gulf of Aden, 17 Turkish crew members of Horizon-1 ship arrived from Amman, Jordan to Istanbul yesterday.
