Four children lost for two weeks
Photos of three children who went missing in Kayseri province in Central Anatolia last week are going be displayed on public buses and tramways, Anatolia news agency reported Monday.
Türkan Ay, 11, Ahmet Tuna Tekin, 8, and his sister Dilruba Tekin, 6, left home on the second day of the Ramadan bayram holiday on Sept. 21 this year, planning to ask for sweets from neighboring houses in the fashion of ‘trick or treat’ that occurs during Halloween. However, the three children did not come back home after dark. Although many police officers have been searching for the three children in the Talas district of Kayseri, they have not been found yet.
Salih Bıçak, local administrator of Talas, and Talas Mayor Rifat Yıldırım paid visits on Monday to Hamza Tekin, the father of lost children Dilbura Tekin and Ahmet Tuna Tekin; and to İbrahim Ay, father of the other lost child, Türkan Ay.
Bıçak said they feel sadness for this incident and security forces are working at full capacity to search for the children.
“I know the police are making a great effort. I wait in hope of getting good results from the search,” said father Hamza Tekin.
Since the children disappeared last week, around 800 police officers, some wearing plain clothes, have been conducting searches in shifts.
Meanwhile, 2-year-old Samet Can Çelik was kidnapped in the western province of Bolu on Sept. 16. Çelik was playing on the street near his house with his brother, who said a man and a woman kidnapped Çelik.
