KONYA - Anatolia News Agency
Anatolian museums are set to collaborate with the Pergamon Museum in Berlin as part of a project titled “Anatolian Museums Meet in Berlin.”

"The goal of the project is to organize mutual visits between museum staffs. They will exchange information about the restoration of artifacts,” Konya Provincial Culture and Tourism Deputy Director Mustafa Çıpan said in a recent press conference to promote the project.

The Konya, Afyonkarahisar and Akşehir museum directorates have been included in the project, as well as the Konya branch of the Archaeologists Association, Çıpan said, adding that the museums would carry out joint projects with Berlin’s Pergamon Museum.

One of the coordinators of the project, Deniz Yalçınkaya said, “With experts from Germany, we visit and examine the situation of museums here. Later on, we will go to German museums. We will provide museum business education to a volunteer group that we will choose from the Selçuk University history, art history and archaeology departments. When the project is done, we will prepare a project and present it to the Culture Ministry.”
