Russians uncomfortable with ongoing conflicts in warm countries should go to Turkey for their summer vacation, Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev has suggested.

Medvedev was visiting mining stations in Siberia when miners began complaining to him that they could not afford many summer holiday options on their 2,300-Turkish Lira salary.

Miners told the prime minister that the countries that they could afford to vacation in were now struggling with unrest and conflicts.

Medvedev then suggested that miners should go to Turkey.

"Tension may be high in warmer countries like Egypt and such," Medvedev said. "However, you may choose to spend your vacation in comfort in Turkey."
