A man was caught red-handed by the police in the central Aegean province of Aydın on Sept. 19 while preparing Molotov cocktails in his car after being noticed for his “suspect behavior.”

The 29-year-old shopkeeper from Istanbul, identified by Salih Ö., told the police that he intended to use the flammable weapon to attack his in-laws house, because he was upset that his wife left him three months ago.

Father of three, the assailant said that he became furious when his wife, Derdinaz, refused his last proposal to return to home after coming all the way from Istanbul, whereupon he planned to retaliate by throwing Molotov cocktails at the home of his father-in-law, Hikmet P.

Salih Ö. was sent to court after his interrogation, officials said.
