League to start with big match

The Spor Toto Super League’s 2013-14 fixtures were drawn yesterday, setting up an opening-week match-up between two giants, Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor.

Defending champion Galatasaray will start the campaign against Gaziantepspor, while last season’s runner-up Fenerbahçe will visit newcomer Torku Konyaspor on the weekend of Aug. 17 to 19.

Galatasaray will play its first derby against Beşiktaş in week five, while the ever-heated Fenerbahçe vs. Trabzonspor clash will be on the seventh match day.

Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray will deliver the latest rendition of the biggest rivalry in Turkish football on match-day 11.

The winter break will begin on Dec. 30, while the second half of the season will start on Jan. 24, 2014. The season will end on May 19, 2014.
