Spor Toto Super League leader Galatasaray and cellar-dweller Akhisarspor, which has already relegated to the lower division with two weeks to go, will clash on May 15 in the Ziraat Turkish Cup final in the eastern Sivas province.

Akhisarspor, the defending Turkish Cup champion which beat Fenerbahçe 3-2 in the final last season, will be the second First Division Turkish team to represent Turkey on the European stage if it wins the trophy again.

Galatasaray, on the other hand, has a crucial game against Başakşehir on May 19 and will be crowned the league champion for the second year in a row if it wins at home.

In the Turkish Super Cup played on Aug. 5, 2018, Akhisarspor beat Galatasaray 5-4 on penalties after the regular time and the overtime ended 1-1.

Galatasaray will be playing its 23rd Turkish Cup final, and has won 17 of its past 22 finals, making it the club with the most Turkish Cup trophies.

Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim is gunning for his third Turkish Cup to join Ahmet Suat Özyazıcı, Gündüz Kılıç and Aykut Kocaman in the three-time cup winners club.

The final game will kick off at 8:45 p.m. Turkish time and will be broadcast live by ATV.
