Kosovan city welcomes Turkish choir at concert

The Istanbul State Music Choir performed Nov. 26 in the Kosovo city of Mitrovica. The concert was organized as part of an event celebrating the 60th anniversary of Turkish language in Kosovo.

It was the first time in 20 years that a Turkish choir performed at the culture center near the Mitrovica Bridge, which separates the city.

Mitrovica Mayor Avni Kastrati, Minister Mahir Yağcılar, Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry Deputy-Undersecretary Kemal Fahri Genç and Turkish Ambassador Songül Ozan were among the 500 guests of the event.

Mitrovica Deputy-Mayor Erol Zekeriya said they had not organized a similar event in 20 years and the event boosted people’s morale.

Istanbul State Music Choir artists Aylin Şengül Taşçı and Osman Ziyagil performed Rumelian folk songs
