Rocket projectiles that were fired from Syria landed in the southern province of Kilis for the third consecutive day on April 13.

Locals in the border province panicked when Katyusha rockets fired from Syria fell into an empty field in two different regions at 9:10 a.m. No casualties were reported in the incident.

Security and health personnel were also deployed to the scene upon notice of an explosion after the firing.

Meanwhile, Chief of Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar and National Intelligence Organization (MİT) head Hakan Fidan also arrived in Kilis following the recent incidents.

The incident marked the third such incident in Kilis in the past three days.

On April 12, two people were killed and six were wounded when two rocket projectiles again fired from Syria landed in Kilis, less than one day after multiple rockets hit the province.

Three rocket projectiles fired from a region under the control of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Syria landed in Kilis on April 11, wounding 12.

Outraged locals in Kilis also rallied in front of the governor’s office on April 12 to demand greater security measures following the incident the same day that killed one and wounded seven.
