Jose Carreras to perform in Istanbul Jose Carreras, one of the greatest tenors of all time, will perform at Ülker Arena on March 25 as part of his “The Final World Tour.”

Soprano Simge Büyükedes and the Istanbul Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Roberto Molinelli, will accompany the jubilee concert in Istanbul.

Carreras, who started showing interest at the age of 6, started his conservatory education when he was 8.

The famous tenor took the stage for the first time at the age of 11 at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. In 1971, he won the Voci Verdiane from Parma’s most prestigious competitions by creating a tremendous impression with his work with Nabucco and Lucrezia Borgia.

Carreras reached an audience of 2 million with the concert “3 Tenors,” when he performed with Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti before the 1990 FIFA World Cup.
