Istanbul police find 15 kg of explosives in PKK operation

Police have found 15 kilograms of plastic explosives in a dig in Istanbul within an operation against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) CNNTürk reported on its website today.

Istanbul police's anti-terror department launched two digs in Istanbul's Zekeriyaköy and Bayrampaşa districts.

Fifteen kilograms of plastic explosives were uncovered in the dig in Bayrampaşa, report said.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
