Istanbul hosts chefs’ competition
ISTANBUL - Anatolia News AgencyChefs from the world have begun competition at the 10th International Gastronomy Festival, which opened at Istanbul’s TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center on March 15.
Turkish Chefs National Team Chairman Ümit Yüksel said nearly 1,000 chefs from around the world would compete at the festival, which started with a dish competition between tourism and hotel management schools and would continue with other categories.
“During the competitions, our guests both represent their country and make the most of Istanbul,” he said, adding that the dishes would be tasted by a jury while the winners would receive their awards March 18. The festival is being organized with support from the TAF and the World Association of Chefs Societies.
