Istanbul Contemporary presents ‘Art Istanbul’

Contemporary Istanbul hosted a Cocktail Prolongé at Safran Zunft Restaurant in Basel on June 14, gathering important of invitees including collectors, artists, curators, and advisors from all over the world.
The event presented the Art Istanbul project to the international art scene, aiming to increase the interest in Turkish contemporary art in the international scene. Art Istanbul event also aims to draw people to Istanbul and to make the city a thriving contemporary art hub. The evening in Basel was realized with the support of Akbank Private Banking.

Art Istanbul will take place for the first time this year between Nov. 19 and 25. It will be supported by the Istanbul Culture and Arts Foundation (İKSV), the Sabancı Museum, the Pera Museum, the SALT and Arter art venues, various universities, the Beyaz Auction House and the Antik Auction house. Art initiatives and culture foundations from foreign countries will also support the activities that will take place at “Art Istanbul.”

This year the Contemporary Istanbul art fair will take place between Nov. 22 and 25. The fair team also aims to make Istanbul a contemporary art hub of the region.
