İşsanat hosts Franz Liszt Orchestra

The Franz Liszt Chamber Orchesta, which bears the name of the famous composer, will perform with the flutist Emmanuel Pahud at İşsanat.

İşsanat will host the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra & Emmanuel Pahud in a concert tomorrow. The Swiss-French flutist Emmanuel Pahud is one of today’s most exciting and adventurous musicians.

Beginning his musical studies at the age of six, Pahud graduated in 1990 with the Premier Prix from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. In 1997, he was named “Instrumentalist of the Year” at the prestigious Victoires de la Musique award ceremony in Paris. At the age of 22, Pahud joined the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra as Principal Flute under Claudio Abbado, a position which he still holds today. In addition to his engagements with the Berlin Philharmonic, Emmanuel Pahud enjoys an extensive international career as a soloist and chamber musician.

Gramophone Magazine raves he is “one of the finds of the decade, a player who respects the pure tonal palette of the flute.” Pahud will perform with the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchesta, an ensemble celebrating its half-centenary history. Choosing the composer’s name as an expression of deep admiration, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra became a representative not only of Hungarian but international classical music life as well, popularizing world-famous Hungarian string traditions around the world. Its repertoire spans almost the entire history of music from Monteverdi, Bach, Vivaldi and Mozart to the romantics and 20th-century composers.

The orchestra has recorded more than 200 discs and was awarded the Grand Prix of the French Académie de Disque in Paris on three different occasions as well as the “Record of the Year” award in Hungary many times.
