Israel is an artificial "outgrowth" in the Middle East that "will disappear," Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said ahead of rallies on Friday against Israel and supporting the Palestinians.
The annual Quds Day marches were started in 1979 after the founding of the Islamic republic. The protests use the word Quds, derived from Arabic, to designate the city of Jerusalem.
Khamenei, in a speech late yesterday, said the "star of hope" that shined on Iran during its Islamic revolution, and in its 1980-1988 war with Iraq "will also shine for Palestine and its Islamic land will definitely be returned to the Palestinian nation." He railed against Israel, saying: "This bogus and fake Zionist outgrowth will disappear off the landscape of geography." Friday's rallies, he said, would be "a blow to the enemies of Islam and Palestine" and added that Iran views supporting the Palestinian cause "a religious duty." This year's Quds Day marches will take place amid heightened tensions between Iran and Israel.
Israel has greatly raised bellicose rhetoric threatening air strikes against the Islamic republic's nuclear facilities, which Israel believe are being used to develop atomic weapons that could destroy it.
Iran denies its nuclear programme is anything but peaceful.

I think that Iran is digging its own grave with all these senseless statements.Every single week we hear about Israel's destruction, Jews annihilation and so on.Don't they have anything more constructive to offer to their people?

If Iran ever ets the Nuclear Weapon, then all such weapons , irregardless of any Nation, should be under lock and Key, with a 24 hour delay mechnism. This. Should the 24 hour release button ever be activated, it will give the World Commisioners the time to redres the wrong to the satisfaction of the claimant and deal with the agressor, who caused the punching of the Release button Alarm. Cumbersom, maybe but it will give the World peace of mind. If ever adapted call it "George Smily System" O.K?

Israel is all he has to keep peoples minds off of the economic situation in Iran. If Israel disappears there will no longer be a diversion.

It is important to judge Israel's behavior in the middle east under this spectrum of understanding the state of mind of people that are being threatened with destruction every day, every single day. And what "destruction" in the middle east means, is simply looking at today's Syria, understanding that what is done to own civilians, will be ten folds to the hatred Jews/Zionists that have been the scapegoats for illegitimate regimes for ages.

Sounds like "whistling past the graveyard" to me - Iran's Islamic Republic is a hair's breadth from collapse.

If there is bellicose rhetoric being thrown about it is on the Iranian side. For several years they have advocated the destruction of Israel and are in the process of developing weapons toward that end. The UN has obtained proof that the nuclear program in Iran is aimed toward obtaining atomic bombs and concurrently they are developing long range rockets. The position of Israel regarding an Iran with nukes is shared by most countries including EU, US & even Saudi Arabia, etc.

The cleaver grand leader is useing israel as a scapgoat to focus on, then they economic plight, caised by sanctions.Iran is isolated in the middle east, they only attachment is the plight of the Palenstinians which they use for they own advantage to use against Israel.Except no one listens to Iran anymore, after they support of Assad and his mass killings of his people.Iran has lost all creditablity in the Islamic World.
