Israeli border police have shot dead a Palestinian man and wounded two others at the entrance to Jerusalem.

Border police spokesman Shai Hakimi says 40-year-old Akram Badr was traveling in a car that burst through a checkpoint at high speed early Monday and tried to run over officers who ordered him to stop.

Palestinian police said the car had entered a wrong lane and was backing up to enter the right one when Israeli border police mistakenly thought it was trying to hit them and opened fire.

Hakimi said police didn’t know whether the Palestinians were armed because the car drove off, eluding security forces.

While many try to justify the killing lets not forget one thing, israelis are the invaders, if they weren't there this would not be happening, but no matter, israel after WWIII will be no more, regardless of how many nukes they have.

Yes, definetly the driver should have stoped at the check-point. There is one more factor to consider, the Palestinians are also scared ot the "Cowboy Justice that applies to them, i.e. "Shoot first, ask wueations later"

The driver was scared as he was driving 13 illegal workers to Israel (according to Israel Media). So apparently he wasn't trying to run the soldiers over (as opposed to numerous attempts that were real), just to escape check...

Not stopping at a checkpoint in a war zone is like suicide. We have to realize that in the high tension areas like Israel and Palestine, officers are tensed due to the obvoius risks of terror attacks. Not to obey any kind of instructions in such a situation is very dangerous.

They have to stop at the checkpoint, it's as easy as that! I wonder what part of it they do not understand?
