Israel's plans to build 3,000 new settler homes in east Jerusalem and the West Bank amounts to an act of aggression "against a state," PLO official Hanan Ashrawi said on Friday.

"It is an act of Israeli aggression against a state and the world needs to take up its responsibilities," Ashrawi told AFP, a day after the United Nations recognised the Palestinians as a non-member observer state.

This is stupid. Building a house is not an act of aggression. Firing a missile is. That said - netnayahu should not have started these projects. I fail to see any kind of positive outcome to such actions. Actions which produce no positive outcome are stupid...

The Palestinian Authority breached the Oslo agreement that specifically determinded that permanent solution will be achieved solely by negotiation and specifically prohibited referral to international institutions to change the status of the parties. Abu Mazan knows, and was worn, that his referral to the UN breaches the Oslo agreement, therefore, Israel does not have to honor the Oslo agreements anymore.

It is likely that these plans were on the books for months but were delayed because of the recent war with Hamas. In my opinion, the only way this problem can be resolved is by negotiations. The terrorist group Hamas should renounce violence, acknowledge Israel's right to exist, join with Abbas and the Palestine Liberation Government and begin negotiations with Israel to reach a two state solution. Anger, frustration, blame and further violence will do nothing to resolve this problem.
