Israel plans to build 3,000 new housing units for Jewish settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, Israeli media reported on 30 November, a day after the UN General Assembly voted to grant the Palestinians non-member state status at the world body. EPA/JIM HOLLANDER
Israel's plans to build 3,000 new settler homes in east Jerusalem and the West Bank amounts to an act of aggression "against a state," PLO official Hanan Ashrawi said on Friday.
"It is an act of Israeli aggression against a state and the world needs to take up its responsibilities," Ashrawi told AFP, a day after the United Nations recognised the Palestinians as a non-member observer state.
