Euromoney Awards for Excellence, which is watched closely by the world financial industry, has chosen İşbank as the best bank in Turkey.

Adnan Bali the general manager and board member of İşbank, received the award at a ceremony in London on behalf of the bank. More than 500 senior executives in the banking industry attended the
ceremony last week.

Euromoney magazine, a monthly periodical established in 1969, is the flagship publication of business and financial publisher Euromoney Institutional Investor.

Santander was named best global bank and Deutsche Bank was awarded the title of best global investment bank, according to Euromoney’s website.

The Euromoney Awards for Excellence cover more than 20 global product categories, best-in-class awards in all regions and best banks in close to 100 countries around the world.

During the event, attendees from the banking industry raised 445,292 pounds towards the Euromoney’s charity project for 2012, which is to eliminate the disease trachoma in the South Omo region of Ethiopia.
