Iran to boost gas exports to Turkey

TEHRAN - Anadolu Agency
Iran plans to increase its gas exports to Turkey by bolstering its gas pressure facilities in Tabriz, Tehran’s official news agency IRNA reported on Aug. 16.

Abdul Hossein Samari, the deputy head of the National Iranian Gas Company, said that the nominal daily capacity of gas transfer – which sits at 36 million cubic meters – would rise to 53 million cubic meters after the new facilities are installed in the following days. The development will bring the maximum capacity to 60 million cubic meters, Samari added.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani arrived in Ankara in June for his first official visit to Turkey since becoming president a year ago.
