The “Ticket to Bollywood” dance performance took place at the MEB Sura auditorium in Ankara on Jan. 21, in an attempt to blend Turkish and Indian cultures.

Organized by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Indian Embassy in Ankara, “Ticket to Bollywood” was performed by 16 dancers from the Indian capital city of Mumbai.

Indian Ambassador to Ankara Susmita Gongulee Thomas spoke at the opening of the event, saying that the event was organized to strengthen cultural relations between Turkey and India.

Director, Shubhra Bhardwaj, said all the show’s team members - from the technical team to costume designers - came from the Bollywood film industry in Mumbai. Bhardwaj, who has been directing the team since 2010, said they had previously performed in Canada, the U.S., the Caribbean, Japan, Russia, Germany, France and also Greece.
