A conservative TV host has claimed that she offered her best friend to her husband if he would like to have her, daily Milliyet reported.
Sibel Üresin, a conservative life coach and family consultant, also said there was no one left in Istanbul who was still monogamous.
When she was questioned on her earlier remarks supporting polygamy for men, Üresin said she was "suprised" to see people "acting as if polygamy doesn't exist."
"I showed my husband a single friend of mine," Üresin said. "I told him that if he liked her, he could have her. He didn't accept the offer, but even if he did, I wouldn't have divorced him."
Üresin was the center of controversy last year when she claimed that Islam allowed for men to practise polygamy. She had said that legalizing religious weddings or polygamy would ensure better property rights for women.
Üresin has worked for conservative, Justice and Development Party (AKP) ruled municipalities as family and women's issues consultant, as well hosting a TV show and writing weekly columns for conservative outlets.

If there were more woman like her in the world, as a man, I can assure you that there would be less cheating and unlawful practices. People often do what they are denied and hide what they feel is an obligation rather than feel they want to keep it. Many men and women feel depressed about their marriages and thus many cheat. If relationships were open and men were offered, they would resist and would treat woman more fairly trust me.

Unfortunately, i sometimes feel ashamed when i hear such ideas.. Women act as if there isn't women's equality and i do not believe that Quran says such absurd things for modern times or it is not account as fornicaton .. İn Quaran , there were men who have wifes more than one . However, it was necessity in order to save women from hunger, violence, poorness etc... it WAS a common occasion in the beginning of İslamic religion.. But if we think about today's conditions it is obviously adultery now.

U should have watched the show she was on last night on Haber Türk. Serdar Turgut (one of the hosts) was really schocked with some of the explanations she was giving when the sources of her reasoning! To her, everything is written in the Koran. When someone commits adultery, they get 200 sticks of beating if they are married, if they are single, they get 100 sticks. Adultery if you are single? No such thing of course! Koran doesnt waste time with such orders eithe! She s out there for fame=money

Roger and Michelle are right. This woman was obviously up for a threesome. What does the holy Quran say on this subject? Where are Zohre and Begum when we need them?

She is indeed a brave woman for calling a spade a spade, while most women stay in the state of denial. It is a sad reality that marital infidelity is very common among the western people both men and women and the supporters of this way of life from Turkey, while they hide behind lofty ideals of women's equality and human rights.

@michellle suzanne. I was thinking the very same thing yesterday after I thought this conversation was over, so I didn't offer the thought.

Would Sibel Üresin fpr example support her daughter to be the "second woman"? Just a hypothetical question and I do not even know if she has a daughter. Or would Sibel Üresin be allowed by her husband to have a lover outside their marriage?

I wish I had 'offered' my ex-wife to 'someone'...It might have been cheaper than the divorce settlement!!
