Hisarcıklıoğlu takes on B-20 presidency

Hisarcıklıoğlu takes on B-20 presidency Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, the chairman of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) has taken over Business 20 (B-20) term presidency from his Australian counterpart Richard Goyder.

The B-20 meets in Australia’s Brisbaine at a weekend event paralel to the Group of 20 (G-20) summit, where Turkey will take on the term presidency.

During Hisarcıklıoğlu’s presidency, some 5,000 business representatives from the B-20 member countries will visit Turkey to strengthen business ties and discuss the future of the global economy.

“I am very happy to take on the B-20 presidency,” Hisarcıklıoğlu said in a post change ceremony, adding that efforts to fulfill the requirements of his new role had already started.

The new B-20 administration will have six major fields of activity, he said: SMEs, entrepreneurship, infrastructure and investments, finance, employment and the struggle against corruption. 

Goyder wished success for Hisarcıklığolu, adding that Australia was ready to support him.

The B-20 is a forum through which the private sector produces policy recommendations for the annual meeting of the G-20 leaders. The B-20 brings together business leaders from across G-20 member countries to reflect the key role of the private sector as the main driver of strong, sustainable and balanced growth.
