Kurka Stefan Lienenkämper

The Istanbul-based Hezarfen Ensemble and soprano Irene Kurka will perform the works of German composer Kurka Stefan Lienenkämper on Oct. 30 at the Yapı Kredi Culture and Arts Center on İstiklal Avenue.

The concert will feature the solo, duo and trio works which Lienenkämper composed during his stay in Istanbul in 2016 as a guest artist of the Tarabya Culture Academy. The composer’s collaboration with the Hezarfen Ensemble started during then.

Born in 1963, Lienenkämper was educated at the Hoge School voor de Kunsten Utrecht. He has worked with various groups and artists such as Garth Knox, Michael Riessler, Carin Levine, Krassimir Sterev, Sonar Quartett, the Spanish National Orchestra and Brandenburg Symphonic Orchestra.

Hezarfen Ensemble, founded in 2010, has given many Turkish premieres of works by composers from around the world in innovative formats, while presenting Turkish works to European audiences for the first time.

The group’s interdisciplinary work ranges from modest integration of electronics, poetry and video to major collaborations with dance, music theater, live video art, and chamber opera.

Tickets for the concert are available at Biletix.
