Helmets belonging to the two missing pilots of the downed Turkish jet were found alongside parts of the plane wreckage, Transportation Minister Binali Yıldırım said, according to daily Hürriyet.

The search for the missing pilots continues, Yıldırım said.

Two pairs of boots, also believed to belong to the missing pilots were found several days before, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had said during a meeting with opposition leaders.

There were no signs of parachutes near the wreckage and the pilots may not have used their ejection seats, according to information provided by the prime minister.

Turkish naval and air forces have been attempting to locate Capt. Gökhan Ertan and Lt. Hüseyin Aksoy since their jet was hit by Syrian forces in international waters on June 22.

@Yannis Marangos, Better face sad reality: empty helmets and empty boots were found, because the pilots are not alive any more. Their families are paying the price of the confusion and disintegration of Turkish geo-politics. And you know the saying "The fish always stinks from the head downwards".

I'm not an air-disaster investigator, but I can't understand how you find boots without the legs and the pilot-helmets (which cover the entire head and lock tightly under the chin) without the heads! This entire story looks more and more weird. Many F4s also have a black box, who has that? There is also a video shown on Greek media (defencenet) that actually shows the shooting down of the plane, recorded from someone on the beach. Why don't you show that too?

I repeat: Now we want to see the footage parts of the wreckage Syria handed over to you and we want to listen to the radar and radio messages around that incident, which as you claim, give a "clear picture" of what happened. Now show us the clear picture or why did hypocrite Rasmussen not want to say something about that? You know you can fool many people for a long time, but not everybody forever. You don't have to be pro-Syrian gov to see through this coup!
