Heavy penalties for violence against women, children on Parliament’s agenda: PM

A draft law regarding the penalties on violence against women and children is set to be brought Parliament on May 12, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said May 11.On Mother’s Day, Erdoğan said those who resort to violence against women and children degrade themselves to a level where they cannot even be counted as human.
“The draft law we are working on preparing will seriously increase the penalties on this subject,” he said. ”We will send the legal regulations to Parliament on May 12.”
Turkey has recently been shocked by the subsequent murders of children.
