Headlines of Akbank Jazz Festival announced

The 24th Akbank Jazz Festival will be held this year between Oct. 23 and Nov. 2. Three headlines of the festival were announced on June 30. Among the stars of this year’s festival will be Jamie Cullum, Christian McBride Trio and Kenny Barron & Dave Holland.

Having paved his road to stardom at a very early age, Cullum is a multi-award-winning jazz singer and songwriter. He has sold over 10 million copies of his six studio albums, Cullum’s repertoire extends over his spectacular compositions to classic songs by greats like Frank Sinatra, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley and Rihanna. He will take the stage on Oct. 30 at Zorlu Center PSM.

The legendary musician Christian McBride will be visiting Turkey with pianist Christian Sands and Grammy award-winning drummer Ulysses Owens Jr. on tour for their new album “Out Here.” The trio will be on stage Oct. 24 at Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall.

On Oct. 31 at Zorlu Center PSM, a concert performed by two-time Grammy Award winning Jazz extraordinaire, pianist Kenny Barron and bassist Dave Holland will appeal to the duo’s existing fans, along with anyone wanting to get to know jazz outside of vocal jazz.
