Van Petegem, Boonen set for generation clash
The Tour of Flanders is to the Belgians what the Tour de France is to the French and Belgians will again be favourites to win the "Ronde" for the 63rd time today. Twice winner Peter van Petegem, 35, and up-and-coming Tom Boonen, 24, will battle it out in an intriguing clash of generations. Van Petegem, the 1999 and 2003 winner, pulled out of the last stage of the De Panne Three Days on Thursday with a cold but said he was in great shape for today's 250-kms ProTour classic. "My condition is excellent and I have not planned any intensive training until Sunday (today). I'm just going to ride in a relaxed way," he told reporters. Boonen also pulled out of the last stage of the De Panne race to avoid any risk before the Tour of Flanders. However, his victory last weekend in the Grand Prix E3 suggested his timing was probably right. "I know there are expectations on me but, for me, Van Petegem remains the favourite because of his experience of the race," he said. Van Petegem holds a similar view about his young rival. "You just have to look at the races Boonen won last year to realize he has become a high-calibre rider," he said. Boonen won last year's Ghent-Wevelgem classic.

Mourinho set to host talk show on Portuguese TV
Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho will host a monthly talk show on a Portuguese television channel from this month, an official of privately owned station SIC told Reuters. Mourinho's show, where he will comment on the Portuguese Premier League and his job at Chelsea, will get its first airing on April 18. The announcement was made after Mourinho was handed a two-match touchline ban and fined by UEFA over the Anders Frisk affair. His English Premier League club were fined 75,000 Swiss francs ($62,800) for bringing the game into disrepute after a row erupted during the first leg of their Champions League first knockout round tie against Barcelona at the Nou Camp last month.
