Lennox Lewis wins latest round of legal case:
Former world heavyweight boxing champion Lennox Lewis won the latest round in his legal case against former promoter Panos Eliades. Lewis, who retired and gave up the title a year ago, had already won a US$5.5 million award in New York in 2002. A jury ruled that Eliades and his company, Panix Promotions, defrauded the fighter out of millions of dollars while acting as his manager and promoter. Lewis has not received any of the damages from Eliades, who says he has no assets, according to testimony in the High Court in London. The court ruled Wednesday that Eliades owned a 2-million-pound (US$3.8 million) property in Enfield, north London, and now Lewis can sue him for ownership.

Sauber could run third car if price is right:
Sauber could run a third car in Friday practice at grand prix weekends if a suitable driver produces enough funding to make it worthwhile. "For Sauber, a third driver only makes sense if he has experience in Formula One and brings the required budget to enter the car," team boss Peter Sauber said. Ferrari-powered Sauber do little testing and do not have a third car, to which they are entitled for finishing outside the top four in last year's championship, for cost reasons. Although no decision is imminent, a third driver would be a benefit to the Swiss-based team. Engines must now last for two successive grands prix, twice the distance of last year, and race drivers are doing little running in Friday practice to save them for Sunday.- ADVERTISEMENT -
