Financial instruments last week
Shares traded on the Istanbul Stock Exchange (ÝMKB) gained 4.17 percent in value this week. During the week, the IMKB Compound Index rose to a record price of 26,749.75 before closing the week at 26,262.68.
While the week ended with an increase in the ÝMKB index, decreases were observed in gold and in foreign exchange values, including the dollar and the euro. The selling price per gram for 24-karat gold bullion fell by 1.86 percent to YTL 18.52 and Republican Gold's price fell by 2.34 percent to YTL 125. The selling price of the U.S. dollar fell 1.75 percent, declining to YTL 1.3510 by the end of the week and the euro fell 2.75 percent to YTL 1.7700.
The ÝMKB Bond and Bill Market's net weekly proceeds of bonds and bills, in terms of weighted averages, rose from between 0.31 and 0.41 percent, respectively.
Calculated from the rates of 10 public and private banks, the net weekly proceeds from deposit interest rates of banks were 0.33 percent for one-month deposits and the net weekly proceeds from repurchasing agreements were 0.27 percent.
