Babacan goes to Spain and UK:

Economy Minister Ali Babacan will attend economy and investment events and meetings regarding Turkey and the European Union in Spain and the United Kingdom respectively. Babacan went to Spain yesterday to participate in a conference during which harmonization efforts for EU accession, recent developments in the Turkish economy and investment opportunities will be discussed. Babacan will be in London on May 20 briefing foreign investors during a luncheon sponsored by Morgan Stanley at the Lanesborough Hotel.
TEKEL's twin towers' next on auction block:

TEKEL's so-called twin towers are going to be sold by the Privatization Administration (ÖİB). ÖİB said in the tender announcement that the privatization procedure for the twin towers is open to consortiums and individual companies and individuals. The deadline for offers is June 17, 2005.
Avea rejects Türk Telekom rumors:

Avea General Manager Cahit Paksoy said that Avea is not having a negative impact on the privatization process of Türk Telekom. Currently Türk Telekom has some 40 percent of available shares in Avea. He added all company partners support Avea and that Avea is fulfilling its financial responsibilities with regard to the Türk Telekom privatization.
