Republic Ball to benefit Pakistan's quake victims:
ANK - Turkish Daily News
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Members' Spouses' Solidarity Association (DMEDD) will hold this year's Republic Ball, which at one time was an annual event, on Nov. 8, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said yesterday in a statement.
Proceeds of tickets for the traditional ball -- which has not been held since the disastrous earthquake in northwestern Anatolia in 1999 -- will be donated to victims of an earthquake that hit Pakistan on Oct. 8, the statement said.
Tickets for the ball to be held at the Ankara Palace will be sold for YTL 75. Those interested in attending are asked to call DMEDD at (312) 310 56 47 for availability and further information.
