The far-right Greek party Golden Dawn has launched a war against two Greek TV channels airing the Turkish TV series “Muhteşem Yüzyıl” (Magnificent Century) and “Fatmagül’ün Suçu Ne?” (What is Fatmagül’s Crime?), daily Hürriyet has reported.

Golden Dawn deputy Hristos Pappas allegedly peed on the entrance door of Mega channel’s building during a protest staged by seven deputies and more than 400 far-right supporters on the anniversary of Greece’s Independence Day yesterday.

Demonstrators also threw eggs and yogurt at the door while reportedly burning a Turkish flag.

Turkish shows are among the most popular TV programs in Greece, with series such as "Sıla" and "Muhteşem Yüzyıl" gaining some of the highest ratings.
