German tourist drowns in Turkey’s south

German tourist drowns in Turkey’s south A German tourist drowned in the Erdemli district of the southern province of Mersin on June 27. Mayer Wolfgang Friedrich, 90, had gone for a swim in the district’s Kocahasanlı neighborhood before he went missing. 

People at the beach began a search for Friedrich and found his drowned body. They then called for an ambulance and the arriving medical personnel declared him dead. 

Friedrich’s body was sent to a forensic medicine institute in the neighboring province of Adana. 

Friedrich regularly visited Erdemli and vacationed by himself, according to reports.
