German tourist dies in Turkey’s south A German tourist died on June 9 in the Manavgat district of the southern resort province of Antalya, where she had been on vacation with her family.

Rena Roswitha Evelin Jacobs, 68, went swimming at the beach of the hotel she was staying in with her family. However, later she suddenly appeared to be in distress in the water and was brought back to shore with the help of those on the beach. Jacobs was later transferred to hospital but she could not be rescued despite all efforts from the medical staff. 

Jacob’s body was sent to Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy following the prosecutor’s examination.
